But you won't have to travel far to find what you are looking for in Kauai. There's more beach per mile of coastline that the other Islands, and that says a lot. In my opinion, Kauai is a better honeymoon location. If you are planning a destination wedding Oahu will be able to provide a wider variety of accommodations for your guests. Meanwhile, Kauai is a short flight away making your getaway fast and secluded.
The food on Kauai won't be much different than what you will find on Oahu. You'll find the same mix of Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Filipino, Italian and Mexican foods as you will on Oahu. More importantly, you will find many Polynesian food restaurants that beautifully mix other cultures in. With a wide variety of fresh fish and produce grown on the island, your taste buds will be quite happy.
If you are looking for chill shopping opportunities, Kauai will definitely make you happy. You won't find large malls crawling with people. There are many boutiques, and smaller shopping opportunities in Kapaa, Wailua, Poipu, Koloa, Hanapepe and Hanalei. You will find a lot of beautiful polynesian art, including hand carved koa bowls and boxes, jewelry, ceramics and local photography prints. Of course, the same sweets like chocolate macadamia nuts will be flowing like a river! So enjoy!
